Popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav has reportedly received an extortion threat demanding ₹10 crore, prompting a police investigation in Haryana’s Gurugram district.
According to police sources, the threat message was allegedly sent through an international WhatsApp number to both Elvish Yadav and his father earlier this week. The sender reportedly claimed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and warned of serious consequences if the demand was not fulfilled.
Following the complaint, Gurugram Police registered an FIR under sections related to extortion and criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities have initiated a technical investigation to trace the origin of the messages and identify those involved.
Investigators are currently examining digital evidence, including call records and online communication details connected to the case. Police officials have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the sender’s claims regarding any gang association.
Elvish Yadav, who rose to national prominence through social media content and reality television, has remained in the spotlight over the past few years due to multiple controversies and public appearances. The latest development has once again generated widespread discussion across online platforms.
Law enforcement agencies in several states have recently increased monitoring of extortion-related threats involving celebrities, influencers, and public figures, particularly those circulated through encrypted or foreign-based messaging services.
The case has also sparked fresh conversations about online security and the growing misuse of digital platforms for intimidation and criminal threats.
Further investigation is underway, and officials are expected to issue additional details after preliminary verification and technical analysis are completed.
