New Delhi:
Social activist and Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has received official permission from Delhi Police to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
According to documents shared by organisers, the permission was granted by the New Delhi District Police for a one-day gathering at the designated protest venue. The approval allows participants to assemble at Jantar Mantar under conditions laid down by authorities and in accordance with existing legal guidelines governing public demonstrations.
Dipke had earlier announced his arrival in Delhi and appealed to supporters to participate peacefully. Organisers stated that attendees were encouraged to maintain order during the event and comply with instructions issued by law enforcement agencies.
Following the approval, members of the Cockroach Janata Party informed supporters through social media that participants should proceed directly to Jantar Mantar instead of assembling at alternative locations previously discussed.
The planned demonstration is expected to focus on issues raised by the organisation in recent weeks. Authorities have indicated that the event will be monitored to ensure compliance with security and public safety requirements.
Jantar Mantar remains one of Delhi's designated locations for public demonstrations and has frequently hosted protests, campaigns and civil society gatherings on a wide range of social and political issues.
Officials have not reported any security concerns related to the event, and arrangements have been made to facilitate the gathering while maintaining public order in the area.
Further updates are expected as participants begin assembling at the protest site and organisers outline the objectives of the demonstration.
